A summer on site – together with our organizers
by Jonas Lyckander
Summer is peak season for many of our customers – and for us at Tickster. When thousands of visitors gather at festivals, concerts, sporting events and other experiences across Scandinavia, we are there behind the scenes to make sure everything works.
Throughout the summer, our teams have travelled across Sweden, Norway and Denmark. We have installed POS systems, prepared entrances, supported organizers and solved both major and minor challenges as they arose. For us, a delivery is about more than technology. It is about understanding the organizer’s needs, being close to their operations and working together to create the best possible conditions for a successful event. And when the visitors start arriving, that is when it really matters.
”It’s on site with our organizers that things really happen”
Niclas Lindeberg, CEO at Tickster:
“For me, it is a testament to what Tickster is all about. We don’t just deliver a platform for selling tickets and managing payments. We work together with our organizers to create complete experiences that are genuinely great, from the first ticket purchase to the final sale on site.”
”You have to be prepared for anything to happen”
Behind every event are many hours of preparation. When Tickster’s delivery team arrives on site, the work often begins long before the first visitor appears. POS systems need to be installed and configured. Entrances need to be prepared. Networks and equipment need to be tested. Organizers and staff need support getting everything up and running.
Since no two events are alike, solutions often need to be adapted to the conditions on site. It could be a festival with several stages and large audience flows, a concert with thousands of visitors, or a sporting event where sales need to work across several locations at the same time.
”The best thing about being out at events is that you get to be involved all the way. We arrive when the area may still be under construction, install and test everything, and then watch it transform from an empty site into a fully operational event. It is also an environment where you need to be solution-oriented. Things are constantly happening, and sometimes you need to rethink things quickly. That is when having a close dialogue with the organizer and being able to solve things together is incredibly valuable.”
Patrik Gund, Head of Delivery, Tickster

A big part of my work is about making many technical components work together – from complex setups and API integrations to ticketing systems and POS systems at our customers’ venues. The deliveries can be very different, but what they all have in common is that everything needs to work when the event gets underway.”

Close to our organizers – for real
For Tickster’s sales team, summer also means many hours out in the field with customers and organizers. Joining the teams on site provides a different understanding of how our solutions are used – and what it actually takes to make an event work.
Annie Jonängen, Sales Representative at Tickster, has spent time on site at Sweden Rock and Way Out West, among other events, this summer.
”It is really great to get out and meet organizers in their own environment. In a meeting, you can talk about a solution and how it is supposed to work, but when you are on site, you immediately see what matters for that particular event. I also think it says a lot about Tickster that those of us working in sales get the opportunity to join deliveries on site. We get to know our customers even better and gain a completely different understanding of their everyday operations.*

When the scale grows
Some deliveries require a little extra. The largest events often involve extensive planning, many POS points, large audience flows and equipment that needs to work from the first minute to the last. Fredrick Berntsson, Business Developer at Tickster, has many years of experience with festival events and is responsible for several of Tickster’s largest deliveries, including at imageSweden Rock and Way Out West.
”The large events are special because there are so many different parts that need to work together. It requires a lot of planning before we arrive, but also a strong team once we are there. At the same time, it is a lot of fun. You see the results immediately and know that what you are doing actually affects the experience of thousands of people. When everything works and you see a festival site full of visitors, it is hard not to feel a little proud.”

Different types of events. Different conditions. Different audiences.
But the same goal: to make things as easy as possible for the organizer and create the best possible experience for the visitor.
For us, that is one of the best things about summer. Getting out of the office, meeting our customers where things happen and being part of the work behind some of Scandinavia’s many great events, both large and small.
See you there next time.
